穿山甲是目前世界上遭走私數量最多的哺乳類動物,且因生性敏感,人工飼料接受度不高,因此人工飼育穿山甲是一件極為困難的事。在這樣生存空間受到壓迫的情況下,穿山甲已列入華盛頓公約附錄I(禁止任何形式的交易行為)的保育類動物。

我國身為世界公民的一員,有許多專業的生物研究人員已投入研究穿山甲,且在台灣出沒之穿山甲為我國的特有亞種——台灣穿山甲。到2019年的現今,台北市立動物園研究計劃的數量已有數年超過1/7的數量皆是在研究台灣穿山甲,在這樣持續地努力下,2017年底創造了全世界第一例以人工飼育方式養育一隻台灣穿山甲長大的紀錄。

另一方面,政府與台灣穿山甲出沒地區的農民合作,以學者研究出適合台灣穿山甲的環境為評比基礎,通過評比即可獲得「友善穿山甲農作物」標章(綠色保育標章),本研究即是想要了解這樣通過綠色保育標章的友善農作物可以為農民帶來多少效益,期以讓政府與農民更重視台灣穿山甲的保育議題與能夠使研究台灣穿山甲持續進行。


本研究採用條件評估法(CVM)下的單界二元選擇模型,並使用PROBIT&LOGIT模型各自估計相關的願付價格,問卷來源為面訪與網路問卷,有效樣本為417份。

在PROBIT模型下,友善穿山甲稻米的願付價格為223.65元,友善穿山甲茶葉的願付價格為315.74元,友善穿山甲咖啡的願付價格為701.38元,與農民一同保育穿山甲的計劃每年每人願付價格為1729.00元,讓穿山甲研究計劃持續進行之每年每人的願付價格為1479.09元。

在LOGIT模型下,友善穿山甲稻米的願付價格為224.66元,友善穿山甲茶葉的願付價格為322.00元,友善穿山甲咖啡的願付價格為733.75元,與農民一同保育穿山甲的計劃每年每人願付價格為1698.97元,讓穿山甲研究計劃持續進行每年每人的願付價格為1439.37元。
Pangolin is currently the most smuggled mammal in the world, and because of its sensitive nature, the acceptance of artificial feeding is not high, so artificial feeding of pangolin is extremely difficult. In such a situation where the living space is oppressed, pangolins are listed as conservation animals in Appendix I of the Washington Convention (prohibiting any form of trading).

As a member of the world's citizens, many professional biological researchers have invested in the research of pangolins, and the pangolins that are found in Taiwan are the endemic species of our country - Formosan Pangolin. By 2019, over one-seventh of the Taiper City Zoo's research projects were for the Formosan Pangolins. With such continuous efforts, the record of the world's first artificial breeding pangolin was created at the end of 2017 in Taiwan.

On the other hand, the government cooperates with farmers living in the pan-leaf-infested areas of Taiwan. Based on the standard of suitable environment for the Formosan Pangolins defined by scholars, the “friendly pangolin crops” stamp (green conservation label) can be obtained through the evaluation. This study aims to find out how much profit can the corps that measured up to the standard bring to the farmers, hoping that the government and the farmers would pay more attention to the conservation issues of Formosan Pangolins and enable the research of Formosan Pangolins to continue.

In this study, single-bounded dichotomous choice under Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) was used, and the related price was estimated using the PROBIT&LOGIT model. The source of the questionnaire was the interview and the online questionnaire. The effective sample is 417.

Under the PROBIT model, the price of pangolin-friendly rice is NT223.65, the price of pangolin-friendly tea is NT315.74, and the price of pangolin-friendly coffee is NT701.38. The WTP per person per year for the plan of protect pangolin with farmers is NT1729.00. The WTP per person per year for the pangolin research is NT1479.09.

Under the LOGIT model, the price of pangolin-friendly rice is NT224.66, the price of pangolin-friendly tea is NT322.00, and the price of pangolin-friendly coffee is NT733.75. The WTP per person per year for the plan of protect pangolin with farmers is NT1698.97. The WTP per person per year for the pangolin research is NT1439.37.
