QUARANTINE
Quarantine is a long-term performative experiment that researches into the patterns of the standard emotional
behaviour hinted by the use of geosocial dating applications such as Tinder.
Etymologically, the word quarantine comes from the Latin root quarantina (forty) evolving into the sentence
quaranta giorni (forty days), the period of time where originally Venetians customarily kept ships from
plague-ridden countries waiting off port. Nowadays, the word is still used to refer to a period of strict
isolation of 40 days to prevent the spread of diseases.
