在台灣資本明顯往跨國化發展之時，台商的跨國活動變得頻繁，除了研究台商的經濟與社會活動之外，現在東南亞的台灣人已經不僅有台商，在東南亞的台灣人社群包括台商妻子與子女。在台灣，族群關係在政治操作下集中在國族認同上，但遠離了台灣在越南土地上，在此生長的台商子女又怎麼形成什麼樣的族群關係呢? 因此，我把焦點放在台商子女身上。本研究中，台商子女在越南的族群關係受到個人各項背景的影響，重要的如家庭、教育與經濟背景，這些背景塑造他們的文化與階級身份和社會網絡的表現。而文化與階級身份和社會網絡則形塑他們的越南想像，導致他們表現三種對異族群不同的態度表述，多元文化的態度、種族主義的態度與階級主義的態度。每個台商子女受到其越南想像的好壞的影響，台商子女對待越南人自有不同的看法，也有不同的接觸層次與深度，所以他們的族群關係也呈現出親近或不親近越南人的強弱差異。

While the Taiwan’s transnational capital flow experiences rapid development, the cross-border activities among the Taiwanese enterprises have become more frequent and prominent. Many studies were done about socio-economic activities regarding the Taiwanese community in Southeast Asia. The enterprises communities in Southeast Asia did not only included the enterprises, but also comprised of the Taiwanese families as well. In Taiwan, the ethnic relationship has been manipulated by their nation identity. However, being away from Taiwan and growing up in the land of Vietnam, how do the children form their ethnic relationship? Therefore, this study focuses on the children of those Taiwanese enterprises. It is found that the personal background such as family, education and economic factors have led great impact on their formations of ethnic relationship in forming their culture and class identity, as well as social network, thereby forming the Vietnam imaginaries. Vietnam imaginaries led them to three types of attitude formation. Three types of attitude formations include multiculturalism, racism, and classism attitudes which are discussed respectively. Through different levels and depth of interaction with the Vietnamese in their social network, it resulted in both their good and bad Vietnamese imaginaries and their close degree with the Vietnamese in ethnic relationship.
