本研究的目的在於探討以故事書及批判思考引導的課程設計是否能影響小學生的品格發展。以品格教育為主軸,本研究結合了英語學習、繪本、批派思考及合作學習。以真實班級觀察為研究對象,利用教師研究法之質性研究作為資料的收集及分析方法。研究對象是位於花蓮市郊的一所國民小學,十三位五年級的學生參與為期十二週,總共三十三節的教學活動。資料收集來源包括:學生省思、開放式問卷、課堂及課後觀察、學生作品、群組及班級討論、訪談等。研究結果發現透過繪本教學及批判思考,不但能改變學生「不誠實」以及「自私」的觀點,還能改變他們的行為模式。附帶的,研究過程所採用的合作學習法活化了英語的學習歷程,讓這些剛踏入英語領域的初學者,充滿了學習的慾望和探索的樂趣。
The purpose of this study is to investigate how literature-based curricula impact elementary students’ moral values in critical literacy classrooms. This study integrated English learning, picture books, critical thinking and cooperative learning in character education. It was conducted by qualitative data analysis focusing on real-life case studies. Thirteen fifth-grade subjects were involved in thirty-three programs. The data were analyzed by reflection logs, open-ended questionnaires, in-class observation, post-class surveys, physical documents, group/class discussions and interviews. The pedagogy of literature-based curricula in critical literacy classrooms is intended to transform their beliefs in dishonesty and selfishness, thus improving their behavior. Cooperative learning makes English learning come alive; ‘enthusiasm and curiosity’ electrifies the English-language classroom. A young inquiring mind desperately requires direct participation in the classroom, not to be merely an inanimate knowledge receptacle.
