隨著全球化的來臨,台灣政府實施許多政策以便增加精通英語的人力。可是根據調查顯示,和其他以英語非母語的國家相較,台灣的英語程度是屬於低級水平,這代表台灣英語教育正面臨一個棘手的問題。另一方面,研究指出,在課堂上使用英語歌曲可以提升語言學習。因此,本研究旨在探討民謠歌曲融入英語教學對國中生英語聽力及文法學習之影響。研究對象為台南市某國中二年級兩班共五十四位學生。實驗組接受民謠歌曲融入英語教學歷時十四週,而控制組則接受傳統的聽力及文法教學。研究工具包括:七首民謠歌曲、聽力測驗、文法測驗和民謠歌曲融入英語教學學習問卷。並用SPSS 22版進行描述性統計、獨立樣本t檢定和成對樣本t檢定的分析。
根據本研究結果,主要發現如下:第一、實施民謠歌曲融入英語教學,對於國中生的英語聽力理解有顯著效果。第二、實施民謠歌曲融入英語教學,對於國中生的文法成就測驗有顯著效果。第三、國中生對於民謠歌曲融入英語教學有正面學習態度。最後,本研究提出三點對於國中生聽力及文法教學之建議。

With the coming of the era of globalization, the government in Taiwan has implemented many policies to increase demand for English-proficient citizens. Compared to non-native English-speaking countries, Taiwan’s English proficiency is low proficiency, meaning English education in Taiwan is facing a thorny problem. On the other hand, some studies demonstrated that the use of English songs in class can promote language learning. Hence, this study aimed to investigate the effects of folk song instruction on junior high school students’ listening and grammar learning. The participants were 64 eighth graders from two intact classes at a junior high school in Tainan City. The experimental group was taught by integrating folk songs into English instruction for fourteen weeks. On the other hand, the participants in the control group received regular listening and grammar instruction. The instruments included seven folk songs, a listening comprehension test, a grammar learning test and responses to the integration of folk song in English instruction. The SPSS program version 22.0 was used to analyze the data, including descriptive statistics, independent-sample t tests, and paired-samples t tests.
The major findings were as follows. First, folk song instruction could enhance junior high school students’ listening comprehension significantly. Second, folk song instruction had a significant effect on junior high school students’ the academic achievement in grammar knowledge. Third, junior high school students had a positive response toward folk song instruction. According to the findings, three pedagogical implications are proposed. Finally, the limitations of the study and suggestions for further research are discussed
