Abstract
In the design of highpass filter, the cutoff frequency, the insertion andreturn losses in the passband, and the attenuation slope in the stopband are important parameters to be considered. Moreover, the performances of filters can be improved if the planar structures are used. In this thesis, the conductor- backed coplanar waveguide structures are uesd to design the highpass filter with short circuit stubs and T-junction structures. In this thesis, the theory of the design of highpass filter is analyzed firstly. Next, the symmetrical and asymmetrical coplanar waveguide highpass filters are designed and realized, respectively. Moreover, the effects of T-junction and short-end discontinuity structures are studied and compensatedproperly. Finally, the characteristics of the filters are measured and compared with simulation results.
