Abstract Benzoxazole and its derivatives belong to fluorescent dye. It can be prepared by reactive benzoic acid With 2-aminophenol in the presence of condensing agent, phosphorus pentoxide /methane sulfonic acid (PPMA). This study prepare 4-hydroxy-3-amino-benzoic acid from 4-hydroxy-3-nitro- benzoic acid by esterfication, hydrogenation and hydrolysis. Use PPMA as a condensing agent to polymerize 4-hydroxy-3-amino- benzoxazole give polybenzoxazole. This polymer belong to rigid- rod polymer and have good heat-resisting property. The reaction by using PPMA as condensing agent is considered to proceed dependent upon the amount of PPMA , reaction temperature and reaction time. The poly-benzoxazoles which synthesis in different condition, show different heat property. However, the heat property of poly-benzoxazoles is better than that of 2-phenyl-5-benzoxazoyl-benzoxazole. Reactive dye can form a covalent bond with cotton in allsaline solution. The product by coupling J-acid with triazine can react with fluorescent dye which has amino substitutent and benzoxazole ring.The dye has only 77% fluorscent strength of the initial bezoxazole compound.
