林曉湄是國中一年級的女生，她的媽媽阿玉是從越南來的新住民。林曉湄因為曾經被拋棄過，與媽媽之間的感情並不好。白奕翔是林曉湄的同班同學，具有亞斯伯格症的症狀，並且有著看到「怪鬼」的超能力。林曉湄幫助白奕翔克服亞斯伯格症造成的溝通障礙，適應學校生活，並協助他解決了一連串有關「怪鬼」的靈異事件。兩人在靈異事件中逐漸成長，懂得要關懷弱勢者、珍惜家庭的幸福。最後林曉湄與阿玉合好，接受自己新住民之子的身分，與家人過著和平的日子。

Lin Xiao-Mei was a girl at 7th grade. Her mother, A-Yu, was a new immigrant from Vietnam. Due to the memory of being abandoned, Lin Xiao-Mei was on the outs with her mother. Lin Xiao-Mei’s classmate, Bai Yi-Xiang, had the symptoms of Asperger Syndrome and the special power of seeing ghosts. Lin Xiao-Mei helped Bai Yi-Xiang overcome his communication barriers caused by Asperger Syndrome and adapt to the school life, and also assisted him with a series of supernatural events about ghosts. They both became mature from these supernatural events and understood the virtue of caring the weak and their families. In the end, Lin Xiao-Mei made up with A-Yu and accepted the fact that she was a child of a new immigrant, and they lived happily ever after.
