由產經理論可知，在其他條件不變下，若某產業有愈多的廠商加入，則該產業會變得更競爭，而使既有廠商的生產更有效率。因之研究廠商加入如何影響競爭程度，將是一個相當重要的問題。然而，由產經理論亦知，產業的競爭程度亦會影響廠商加入的難易。換言之，廠商加入與競爭程度間具有相互影響的關係。過去國內外文獻在此方面的探討，多只偏重加入對競爭的影響或競爭對加入的影響，本文將同時探討加入與競爭兩者間的相互關係，俾便了解加入對競爭程度的影響，以及影響加入的因素。
本文利用民國75年至85年台灣製造業的普查資料，分別探討民國75~80年、民國80~85年兩期間加入與競爭程度間之關係。我們將以產業的淨加入，及集中度（CR4）與價格成本盈餘（price-cost margin）為研究對象。建立兩條迴歸方程式：加入的決定方程式及影響產業競爭程度的方程式，並利用2SLS來估計上述二聯立方程式，實證分析台灣製造業的加入與競爭程度。

From the theory of industrial organization,other beings equal,if there are more entry of new firms in one industry,
the industry will be more competitive and more efficient.Therefore,the study of how entry of firms effect the degree
of competition will be an important issue.However,from the theory of industrial organization,the degree of competition
in one industry also effects the ease of firm''s entry.In other words,firm''s entry and the degree of competion have an
interacton relationship.
