Chinese and Tibetan medicines are two important traditional medicines in the world. They have been developed following distinct aspects of life that are impressed by different natural and social environments. It is hard to compare their medical knowledge by quantitative analysis because many of their medical classics are full of the descriptions of quite abstractive concepts or functions. For example, yin-yang concept, five xing (metal、wood、water、fire、earth), and six qi (wind、cold、hotness、dampness、dryness、fire) are common terms frequently used in Chinese medicine. And in Tibetan medicine cold & heat, rLung、mKhris-pa、Bad-kan,and five elements (earth、water、fire、wind、space) are basic and common terms. In this dissertation we tried to interpret these knowledge by the concept of life information given by the model of multi-layer structure of life. With this approach, however, can make them more comprehensible. Meanwhile, it provides a feasible and appropriate way to compare these two medicines. There exist some distinctions in their recognition of life information, but not totally different. In the similar part both of them apply various concepts of information waves to realize the interactions between different parts of the body, body and mind, and body and nature.
