The subjects of this thesis are the compositions of a contemporary feminine writer in Japan - Kawakami Hiromi. Her compositions are full of ambiguous ambiance and I will take "Self" and "Other" and "Distance" as topical subject to analyze "Hebi wo fumu", "Oboreru" and "Sensei no kaban." I will find out and evaluate the common features of these three compositions to analyze how Kawakami Hiromi conveys distinctive fascinations by her compositions. In addition, I stand on different viewpoints in every chapter to proclaim to distinctions from writers. Through comparing with other writers and the features of modern literature I will search out her status of modern literature in Japan.
