微藻被為最有潛力的生質能源之一,其相較於其他植物生長快速、佔地面積小和能快速固定二氧化碳。
本研究所使用的藻種是購自東港水產試驗所的擬球藻,並開發新型光合生化反應器來培養藻類,新型光合反應器有良好的曝氣系統和培養循環系統,其培養體積分別為3.5L、20L、100L。
擬球藻所使用的培養基質為Walne’s medium,並在培養中控制其光照、海水鹽度、基質起始酸鹼值和曝氣量。從研究中發現將光照控制在8400Lux、海水鹽度35g/L、起始ph值在7.5和0.25vvm,從結果中得在3.5升新型反應器中培養藻類所表現出效率,遠快於傳統的批處理系統;100L新型反應器效率雖不及於3.5L新型反應器,但其生長效率也是相當快速的,可以作為未來商業運轉的準備。
