The dot-com bubble that happened in 1995 until 2001 caused many companies had been acquired or liquidated. The companies which survive have to improve themselves for continuity. Companies financial performance influence the investors desire whether to investor or not. In this study, we concern about the profitability especially Return on Investment of companies compared with the Growth of their stock market price from the selected companies and NASDAQ companies for years 1995 until 2006.
We found that there is no relationship between ROI and Growth of selected companies, ROI between selected companies and NASDAQ companies for period when the dot-com bubble happened but there is relationship between ROI and Growth of NASDAQ companies, Growth between selected companies and NASDAQ companies for the period after the dot-com bubble happened. There is also no relationship between ROI and Growth of selected companies, ROI between selected companies and NASDAQ companies, ROI and Growth of selected companies. But there is a strong relationship between the Growth of selected companies and the NASDAQ companies.
