本論文針對企業在轉移工作流程平台環境的需求,提出了以OMG Model-Driven Architecture (MDA)為基礎的工作流程發展架構。過去在工作流程的標準出現前,不同流程平台之模型皆存有差異性,使得企業在轉換工作流程平台環境時,必須耗費額外的資源與時間重新塑模企業流程於新平台。因此我們將MDA技術導入工作流程的發展,將工作流程的塑模分成兩階段,第一階段將企業流程塑模於Platform Independent Model (PIM) 的工作流程,第二階段再依企業欲部署的工作流程環境,將PIM的工作流程以模型轉換的機制轉換成該平台的工作流程模型,也就是該流程平台的Platform Specific Model (PSM),最後再由其中自動產出該平台對應的流程定義文件。為了驗證本架構的可行性,我們設計一個工作流程的Platform Independent Model - MyWF,並以MOF與XMI技術來描述與定義其meta-model。除此之外,我們並以Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC)的XPDL 規格書中描述的meta-model為轉換的PSM meta-model,發展由MyWF模型至WfMC PSM模型的轉換程序以及由WfMC PSM模型至XPDL流程定義的轉換程序。藉由以MDA技術來發展工作流程,企業將可降低流程平台轉移時的成本與複雜度,並提高工作流程模型的重複使用性。
The heterogeneity of workflow models usually makes the switching of workflow platforms difficult. One of the major reasons is that workflow developers need to re-implement the workflow application when switching to a new workflow platform. The cost of platform transition usually is expensive. In this thesis, we propose a workflow modeling solution based on Object Management Group’s Model-Driven Architecture. In our workflow modeling solution, the modeling process is divided into two phases. First phase is to design the business processes based on platform independent model (PIM), which only describes the generic entities of a workflow application. Second phase is to identify the specific platform and project the workflow application design based on platform independent model into the platform specific model (PSM). To prove the superiority of our solution, we define a workflow independent model, which is called MyWF, and describe its meta-model based on MOF and XMI technology. Besides, we chose WfMC’s XPDL compliant workflow management system as an experimental execution environment. Our solution transforms MyWF model into the PSM model and generates XPDL definitions automatically. By separating the platform specific characters from workflow modeling, the investment of implementing a workflow application can be preserved, and the transition cost across different workflow platforms can be reduced.
