Wavelength division multiaccess (WDMA), which utilizes the vast bandwidth of the optical fiber, offers a newly attractive way to construct high- speed communication networks. In a single- hop WDM network system with passive star, many MAC protocols have been proposed. In this thesis, we propose a conflict free MAC protocol with multiple priority classes for single-hop WDM network based on passive star topology. Furthermore, two different priority schemes are also proposed to share the available bandwidth. Based on our protocols, channel utilization is close to 1 and the unfairness problem will be solved.
