外商直接投資被政策制定者視為東道國經濟增長的催化劑。本研究經驗性調查了1991年至2015年間外國直接投資對蒙古經濟增長的影響。經驗模型改編自基於Koojaroenprasit（2012）的內生增長模型的研究。OLS回歸分析採用世行，開發計劃署和蒙古統計局網站收集的二次宏觀經濟年度數據。
結果發現，外商直接投資對蒙古的經濟增長有積極和顯著的影響。此外，國內投資和就業對經濟增長有顯著和積極的影響，而出口對蒙古經濟增長沒有顯著影響。然而，外國直接投資與國內投資的相互作用表明它們不相輔相成。並且，發現人力資本對蒙古的經濟增長沒有影響

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is viewed as a catalyst for economic growth for the host country by policy makers. This study empirically investigates the impacts of FDI on economic growth in Mongolia from 1991 to 2015. The empirical model is adapted from a research study based on an endogenous growth model of Koojaroenprasit (2012). OLS regression analysis used secondary macroeconomics annual data, collected from the websites of World Bank, UNDP, and Mongolian statistical office.
The result finds that FDI has a positive and significant impact on economic growth of Mongolia. Moreover, domestic investment and employment have a significant and positive impact on economic growth, while export has no significant impact on economic growth of Mongolia. However, an interaction of FDI and domestic investment indicate that they do not crowd in each other. Furthermore, it is found that human capital has no impact on economic growth of Mongolia.
This study is the first to contribute an empirical analysis of FDI on economic growth of Mongolia in English sources. Other studies are mostly concentrated in the mining industry. Also, most of the studies on Mongolia are mainly literature review or policy recommendations.
