The purposes of this study include: 1.An investigation how well-informed Taiwanese students'' attitudes are about the government''s policies concerning opportunities in advanced study in China. 2.An investigation of students'' approval of disapproval of the Taiwan government''s decision to recognize degree earned in China. 3.An investgation of students'' opinions on certain problems connected with studying in China. 4.An investigation of strudents'' comparison of Taiwanese and Chinese graduate school, particularly in regard to tuition and length of study. 5.An investigation of students'' willingness to study in China. The raw data are procesed by using the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). The research methods are descriptive statistics, crosstabulation and χ2 test of independence. The results of this research lead to the following conclusion: 1.Most students hope they can pursue advanced study. The educational authority should offer students more opportunities for advaned study in Taiwan. 2.Taiwanese studets should be provided more detailed information about the relative quality of academic institution in China, in order to make better informed decision. 3.There will be an increasing amount of information on academic institutions in China available in Taiwan as the Taiwan government liberalize its policies regarding the recognization of degrees earned in China . In addition, the educational authority should evaluate Taiwan''s human resources and adjust the scope of the types of schools recognized accordingly. 4.The educational authority should not try to stop students from studying in China due to such factors as cultural homogeneity, cross-strait family ties, and the attraction of well-known schools. 5.The educational a uthority and the public need not worry that too large a percentage of students will prefer to study in China rather than in Taiwan, One reason is the fact that tuition and fees in Taiwan are not as expensive as in China . Moreover ,students will atke other factors into account such as the attitudes of prospective employers in Taiwan, the political and social stability in China and the status of cross-strait relation,...etc..
