由於網際網路的頻寬有限,且多媒體資料龐大,為了傳輸、儲存和其他應用的考量上,對於數位資料的壓縮編碼是必要的。相對地,數位資料具有容易保存、傳輸和處理的優點下,亦容易遭複製或修改,進而侵害原擁有者的著作權(copyright)或相關權益。因此,數位資料的著作或擁有權保護是刻不容緩且亟需討論的問題。
應用於影像或視訊資料上,以進行智慧財產權保護所使用的浮水印技術已被廣泛討論。一般而言,浮水印的法則可以分成在非壓縮領域和壓縮領域下進行兩大類。目前大部分文獻均對前者加以討論,而壓縮領域的方法則較少人進行研究。
本論文將先藉由靜態影像的模擬,初步驗證浮水印演算法於壓縮領域的可行性。最後,利用轉碼轉換(transcoder)的方式於compressed-video嵌入浮水印,期盼對於著作權的保護能有所貢獻。

Owing to the limitations of bandwidth on the Internet, it is necessary to compress and encode digital data for the sake of transmission, storage and other applications. Digital data is easy to save, encode and process. However, it may suffer from copyright or other intellectual property problem. Therefore, the protection of property right of digital data is a critical issue.
Watermarking techniques, applied to protect the intellectual property right of image or video data, have been widely discussed. Generally speaking, watermarking algorithm can be divided into “uncompressed-domain” and “compressed-domain”. Nowadays most researchers have put their focus on the former, and few pay attentions on the later.
This paper first examines the possibility of compressed-domain watermarking algorithm by way of simulations on still images. Then, extending the algorithm to embed the watermark into the compressed-video. Hopefully, this paper would make a contribution to the copyright protection.
