This paper uses the logist regression model to investigate the effects of financial literacy, financial adviser and information sources on health insurance participation. Our empirical evidences not only suggest that people with higher financial literacy would be more likely to purchase health insurance but also financial adviser will influence people to participate health insurance. Receiving financial information from advertisement in news, magazines, and television and converse with family members or friends are all positively related to the demand for health Insurance. Especially, consumers with low level of financial literacy prefer informal sources of information such as family and friends and consumers with high level of financial literacy prefer formal sources of information such as seek advice and guidance from financial adviser. In addition, physiological characteristics, like age, gender, marriage, working status, and personal income are also key factors affecting the demand of health insurance. Finally, we figure out not all financial education activities from the Taiwan Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) are benefit to increase the demand of health insurance due to the goals and the participants of these activities.
