摘 要

拉赫曼尼諾夫 (Sergei Vassilievich Rachmaninoff, 1873- 1943) 是偉大的作曲家、指揮家及鋼琴家，音樂風格自十九世紀後期浪漫派跨至二十世紀現代樂派，並注入俄國的民族音樂風韻，總表現出引人注目的音響效果與陰鬱的情感之雙重特質。
拉赫曼尼諾夫於1918年定居美國後，1931年去巴黎渡假時寫出《柯瑞里變奏曲》，該曲曲式及創作手法實屬傳統，但半音色彩變化豐富，加上因他本身擅長創作管絃樂等大型作品，故呈現濃厚的織度、和聲與器樂奏法，成為一首技巧與詮釋上均具困難度的作品。
本論文第一章先對「變奏曲」之歷史演進與各時期代表作家及作品進行介紹；第二章分為二節，第一節簡敘拉赫曼尼諾夫之生平，第二節則以其三個轉淚點事件為依據，一探不同時期與事件對他的作品風格之影響；第三章針對《柯瑞里變奏曲》內涵進行深入研究，第一部份為該曲音樂內容之分析，如曲式、節奏、和聲進行等，第二部份則以上述理論為基礎，探討鋼琴演奏詮釋需注意之技巧與音樂處理原則。筆者希望其他演奏者閱讀本論文後，能夠對此作品在研究及詮釋上有更深一層的想法，之後更常演出此傑作。

Abstract

Sergei Vassilievich Rachmaninoff was a remarkable composer, conductor and pianist. He combined both late-Romantic music style and modern style in his works. With additional traditional musical elements from his homeland, Russia, he always delivered affective orchestral sounds as well as melancholic emotions.
Rachmaninoff immigrated to America in 1918. During a vacation to Paris in 1931, he composed《Variations on the Theme of Corelli》. The form was traditional. Yet colorful chromatic notes with orchestral sounds learnt from his many practices in composing other orchestral works enrich the whole context. It thus becomes a difficult work for pianists to play and interpret.
In this thesis, the author firstly investigates the development of ‘Variation’ form and discusses some represent composers with their works. The second chapter is divided into two sections: the first introduces Rachmaninoff’s life background and the second explores some musical influences caused by events at three turning points of his life. The third chapter discusses ’Variations on the Theme of Corelli’ in details. Important elements such as form, rhythm, harmonic progression.....etc. are examined. And in second part of each discuss about variation, as a performing pianist, the author provides helpful practice methods and interpreting possibilities to help herself and others play. She sincerely hopes that this thesis may inspire other pianists to perform such great work much often in the near future.
