This research focuses on the importance of the financial market on the economic development of the Mongolia with the key question being whether development of financial market could be at least partially responsible for the economic growth of the country. A broad literature review has provided solid arguments supporting both views that the financial market is able and not able to influence the economic performance.

In this research, ordinary least square and time-series analysis regressions have been applied leading to an outcome that there was no influence of the financial market on the economic development of Mongolia for the period 1995-2010.
