單點增量成型相較於模具成型,由於不受專用模具之限制,僅須使用夾持板料之夾具,因此除可降低成本,亦可應用於客製化醫療用品之製造及汽車工業之鑲板等之製造領域。表面粗糙度反應出一個工件的外觀、精度與應用時之性能的優劣,而SPIF此製程技術是運用於高單價的客製化產品,如果能在一次的成型過程將表面粗糙度與精度提升至最高,就能減少二次加工所造成的時間與成本。
表面粗糙度之實驗參數含刀具轉速(rpm)、刀具進給速率 (mm/min)、刀具直徑(mm)及進給量(mm),並利用田口方法進行表面粗糙度之最佳化,由田口方法推薦之最佳參數與L9之九次實驗中的表面粗糙相互比較,的確得到較佳之表面粗糙度。

As the single point incremental forming only uses fixtures to clamp sheet metal, it is not confined to the molds. Hence, single point incremental forming not only can reduce the cost, but also can apply to the manufactures of custom-built medical equipment and panel of the auto industry. The surface roughness can reflect the appearance, precision and performance of workpiece. If the surface roughness and precision can promote in one forming process, it will reduce the time and cost for the second forming process.
Surface roughness parameters are tool rotation (rpm), tool speed (mm/min), tool diameter (mm) and tool feed (mm). The Taguchi method is adopted to study the optimization of surface roughness. From comparison of the results of L9 experiments and Taguchi recommended optimal experiment, it shows that Taguchi experimental parameters can obtain better surface roughness.
