移動的主機在通訊換手的過程中需要改變連結到網路的位址。改變連線的位址會衍生出如何找到移動後的主機及造成通訊斷線等問題。在本論文中，針對在通訊換手時因改變連線位址所造成的問題，我們提出一個建立在會談啟始協定上的機制來維持移動終端間的通訊連續性。不論兩端可移動的主機是否同時移動，我們的機制利用會談啟始協定來找到移動的主機，並且維持兩端終端機的通訊在換手後能繼續進行。另外，當可移動的主機從某網域漫遊到不同網域時，我們的機制可以讓現存的網路應用程式正常的運作而不需要對應用程式做任何的修改。最後，從本論文的實驗結果可知，我們的機制在終端機間之通訊上只導致了些微的額外負擔。

Mobile hosts may change addresses to connect to networks when experiencing communication handoffs. The address change incurs problems of locating mobile hosts and communication discontinuity. Against the problems resulting from the address change in communication handoffs, we propose the SIP-based Mobility Scheme (SMS) in this thesis. The SMS utilizes SIP to locate mobile hosts and maintain their communication continuity after handoffs, no matter whether the mobile hosts move simultaneously or not. The SMS makes applications work without any modification when mobile hosts roam through networks. Besides, the SMS hardly incurs communication overheads according to the results of the experiments in this thesis.
