從現今一般的社會環境來看，年輕人往往忙於求學或就業，多數不是身居外地，獨留老人居於家鄉，或者便是只有晚上返家才有機會與老人互動，並沒有辦法長時間陪伴膝下。另一方面，老年人在退休後，常常見到的是終日閒暇，許多人往往在青壯年時忙於事業，並未對退休生活有太多想像與規劃，也沒有培養一定的興趣與嗜好，一旦退休，便鎮日獨守家中，心中期待家人能有更多的關心。
然而，青壯年時期的職場生涯，讓老人在過去未能有機會瞭解社區生活環境，並參與其中。一旦退休後多數人亦缺乏參與的意願，即便外出也多從事個人活動。此社區公共生活貧乏的情況下，將陷老人於心理上孤單無依的單調生活。在地老化的願景將無法落實。基此，面對上述兩難的情況，便希望藉由社區組織參與老人生活環境營造，提供軟體活動與硬體空間，促成老人社區公共生活的形成，以豐富其生活內涵。

本研究成果如下：
（一）老人社區生活的意義與價值
藉由社區組織提供多元多樣的活動軟體，營造社區公共生活，滿足建康、休閒、教育的生活需求，豐富其生活內涵。再者，透過社區公共生活的群體活動，期待活動過程中，老人彼此的社交互動促成社會網絡建立與社會支持形成；同時，並期待老人對於社區能凝聚地方感，藉此也將提高社會參與度向成功老化的目標邁進。
（二）社區組織的角色與功能
社區組織的角色係透過社會資源多方整合的方式，從社區內、外部資源著手，以營造老人社區生活環境。從軟體環境而言，藉由老人群體活動供給，促成社區生活形成，並豐富生活內涵；與期待社會網絡支持拓展、凝聚老人對社區的地方感。從硬體環境而言，則透過開發既有空間做為老人社區生活公共場域，並建立經營機制持續運作。
（三）老人社區生活環境營運模式的特性
由老人社區生活的意義與價值來看，社區組織參與老人生活環境營造的營運模式，將需側重多元多樣的活動提供以支持老人生活需求，及豐富其生活內涵；另一方面，需要有永續型的活動據點作為期待建立社會網絡與支持平台，並同時能凝聚老人對社區的地方感。

In a social circumstance like now, most young adults engaged in school works or jobs in other places are unable to spend much time being with their aged parents or interacting with them until they come home, as a result the old lived in hometown have to take care of themselves. On the other hand, most young adults are busy with their works and have no plan for their retired life. Plus, they do not have any hobbies or interests in their leisure time. Once young adults go into retirement, they will stay home alone all day, have nothing to do, and expect to gain more concern from their families.
However, in the prime of life, young adults can not get chances to understand their community environment and participate in the activities planned by community organizations. Therefore, the majority are lack of desire to take part in the community activities after retirement. Most activities the old take are personal even they go out. That means elders hardly join in community’s public activities but individual ones. Under this poor public life of community, the old will live with a monotonous, lonely and unfriended mentality. The prospect of aging in place will not be achieved. In this dilemma situation, it is expectable that form a public life in community for elders by community organizations who participate in environment renaissance of community. These organizations will plan and hold “software activity”like health examination, and offer places for activity held called“hardware space”to enrich the life of elders.

The results of this paper as follows:
（一）the meaning and value of community life of the old
It is anticipation that community organizations provide various activities to create a public life of community, satisfy healthy, leisurely and educational life demands, and enrich the life of the old. Moreover, public, social, group activities held for elders by community organizations will form a social network and become social support. It is also expectable that the elders will identify their community more and increase the percentage of social participation in order to have great stride at the goal of aging in place.
（二）the role and function of community organizations
The role of community organizations is to build and create life environment of community for elders through integrating social resources in every way, especially undertaking from the interior and exterior of community resources. In “software environment”, including activity, system and so on, it is to form community life and abundant connotation of life by providing group activities for elders. Furthermore, it is expected that social network can support the old to develop interpersonal relationship and congregate elder’s sense of place of community. In “hardware environment”, it is to develop spaces that have already existed as public fields in community for the old and set up a operation system for continuing to work.
（三）the features of operation pattern of environment renaissance in community for elders
It is found that community organizations that participate in operation system of environment renaissance for elders need to draw support from offering various activities in order to satisfy elders’ life demands and enrich their life. On the other hand, there need to have a sustainable and operational base as supportive platform for congregating the elder’s sense of place of community.
