隨著有線電視頻道的開放與普及化,資訊式廣告近幾年在台灣逐為風行,加上電話行銷以及信用卡消費的裡應外合,資訊式廣告已是一股不可擋的潮流。
過去多年,資訊式廣告被認為是次等產品才會利用的廣告方式,因為資訊式廣告販售的產品常常是沒有品牌的商品、昂貴且易為人遺忘(Hawthorne, 1997)。但近幾年來,國內一些系統業者推出以促銷產品為主、為時約莫三十分鐘的資訊式廣告,其型態是類似於美國的電視購物節目(home shopping),以低廉的廣告價位以及具彈性的播出時段,吸引國內的廣告主與廣告代理商投入這片前景看好的市場,繼而掀起一股資訊式廣告的熱潮。
台灣的資訊式廣告市場大抵可以產品類別區分如下:運動健身器材、家庭清潔用品、汽車用品、廚具五金用品、日常保健用品、美容化妝用品、成衣服飾、健康養身食品、減肥瘦身用品、美體隆胸用品等。其中大多為地區性、較不具知名度的品牌,且該商品幾乎都只以資訊式廣告為單一廣告形式,並非像一般的廣告商品會結合短秒數廣告、平面廣告等多樣方式和消費者接觸,也因此被俗稱為「第四台商品」。但近來也有知名國際品牌(如福特汽車、SKⅡ保養系列產品等)跨入資訊式廣告的市場,一方面為資訊式廣告市場投注了新的生命力,一方面也擴充了廣告主媒體計畫的版圖。
本研究即是在探究閱聽人對資訊式廣告的既存態度,在整個廣告效果中扮演的角色,進而了解閱聽人對資訊式廣告的既存態度是否影響其在接收資訊式廣告訊息時的效果。並藉由實驗設計以對變數、實驗對象控制,而設計出獨立、不受常態活動影響的測驗情境,進而探求受試者面對不同情境時的廣告效果。實驗中透過不同涉入度(共分為兩層次:高涉入度/低涉入度)與論點品質(共分為兩層次:高論點品質/低論點品質)的操控,分析閱聽人對資訊式廣告的既存態度是否和這兩個變數產生交互作用,而導致閱聽人接收訊息之後引發對訊息的支持性想法、反駁性想法、廣告態度、品牌態度、購買意圖的差異。
