Aniline is widely used raw chemical material in various industrial processes, such as dye, pesticide and rubber industrics. It has been suspected asa carcinogen under long-term exposure. No electrochemical scheme has been developed for the determination of aniline yet. A severe electrode faultingproblem from the aniline oxidation hinders the subsequent electrochemicalreaction. The consequency of the polymerization reaction decreases thefuther mass transfer behavior. In current project, we report an electrodesurface regenerable procedure to remove the faulting polymer on electrodesurface. By applying a ±1.8 volts pulse train to the electrode after each electrochemical mesurement, the following signal can be maintained steadily with a relative standard deviation 0.62%(n=20). In contract, the electro-chemical signal decreases 49% from the first determination with a relativestandard deviation 23.3% after successive twenty measurement. The estimated detection limit(S/N=3)is 6.48 ppb (0.05μM) and the linearity of the response is up to 21.3 ppm (or 165μM with corelation coefficient R=0.9997).
