細菌是牙周疾病的主要致病因素已是不爭的事實，但隨著牙周疾病破壞的進程，臨床上表現出來的徵兆除了中度至重度不等的牙齦發炎現象之外，更可發現牙齒搖動度漸增、牙齒位移、咬合高度喪失、不良的牙冠根比、根叉病變、角化牙齦寬度不足、美觀不佳、更甚者缺乏穩定的咬合導致咀嚼困難等。臨床上除了單純的去除牙周致病因素之外，對於這些牙周組織已有相當程度破壞的情況更需以適當的補綴物輔助修復口腔狀況以使病患可以重新獲得一個可以適應、舒適並容易維護的口腔環境。長期牙周補綴治療的成功因素包括適當的病例選擇、良好的補綴物支台齒牙周支持狀況、穩定的咬合狀況、及定期牙周維護等等。本論文呈獻的九個病例包含中度至重度不等的牙周疾病，依臨床狀況與病患需求而有不同的補綴設計，患者對治療成效均滿意,但長期追蹤仍是必要的。

There is no doubt that bacteria are the main etiologic agents for periodontal disease. With the progression of periodontal destruction, the following syptoms may occur: moderate to severe gingival inflammation, increased tooth mobility, pathological migration, vertical occlusal dimension loss, improper crown to root ratio, furcation involvement, absence of keratinized gingiva, unaesthetic appearance, as well as difficulties in chewing causing by unstable occlusion. As far as the compromised periodontal tissues are concerned, in order to eliminate periodontal etiologic factors, properly fabricated prostheses are need to restore the occlusal function for easy maintance of oral hygiene. The long-term successes of perio-prosthetic treatment include proper case selection, fine periodontal conditioned abutment teeth, stability of occlusion and routine periodontal maintenance. This report contains 9 cases of clinical reports with variable periodontal conditions. According to clinical situations and patients’ requests, different prostheses were fabricated. All patients are satisfied with the result of treatments, however, long-term follow-up checks are essential.
