Professional virtual communities have been wildly spread recently. Community members can discuss their thinking through those platforms. The photography virtual communities have the same situations. This study aims to explore the ontology structure of knowledge sharing on the professional photography community. In this study, data are collected from the “Official Magazine of The Photographic Society of Taiwan”, a famous virtual community on photography. Totally 546 photography articles are analyzed. The content of those articles are analyzed having six discussion types: “angle”, “light”, “composition”, “situation”, “the protagonist/supporting role”, and “color”. Those type are recognized as six concepts of photography. The ontology structure of those concepts is then build using formal concept analysis. The results show that the “situation” and “composition” are the most two important ontology concepts. Additionally, this study discussed the relationships among concepts. Finally, photography experts are invited to discuss the role of those concepts to support the results of FCA. Those experts illustrate the concept roles and the effect of combinations of those concepts. The results allow the professional virtual community managers to have better planning on management of virtual communities.
