Taiwan Sunshine (Taipei Shi En Mei Xie Hui台北市恩美協會) was started in 2009 to address the needs of families touched by disabilities in Taiwan. Taiwan Sunshine does this by not only meeting a need that exists within the families of children with special needs, but also by meeting a need that exists for people to be involved in an authentic social service organization. This organization provides a channel for social change as the volunteers working with special needs children are educated and changed by the experience.

Through developing this business plan, Taiwan Sunshine has become more aware of where it fits into the picture of non-profit organizations in Taiwan, and what it needs to do to continue growing and maturing as an organization. The development of this business plan illuminated areas of weakness in Taiwan Sunshine’s organization and its need to extend its vision to more stakeholders as well as other key factors needed for long-term sustainability.
