Exploring the development of Tainan city during early Japanese colonial period, through the aid of digital tools based on a variety of historical materials to represent the spatial organization, and study the process of using new digital historical material forms. Collecting all relevant historical materials of Tainan city, such as the building material system, the space structure and the changing of historical events, from these materials indicate the spatial characteristic of Tainan city wall, by suing 3D models to represent the status of each period’s simulated city appearance. By using the Japanese fast mapping, old photographs, and point cloud data of current historical remains, to make up the lack of historical materials.Cause many of the Japanese fast mapping has been repeatedly scanned, cannot be used as an overlay directly, thus the GIS correction is needed in order to get the most accurate mapping, as the important historical materials and foundation of Tainan city wall representation.
