In this research,the author builded several comupter visual simulation envir oments, and used the program to measure drivers'' detection distance of traffic signs and marking under different levels of visual noise. According to the ex periments, we found when the visual noise ratio increased, the detection dista nce decreased. Furthermore, author offered one visual noise synthesizedformula to describe and to predict the detection distance of trafficsigns. Additonal ly, the questionaire result showed that private car drivers''and motorcycle rid ers'' demands of road information are different when they are on the driving ta sk. Whether car drivers or motorcycle riders, their information needs are sli ghtly different.
