The artist is a naturalist who believes that the humans and animals live in a symbiotic relationship regardless in the biological chain or food chain. However due to humans are omnivorous and the eating behavior of excessive consumption of natural resources, the artist applied symbolism in highlighting the human conditions under the “iron bars” of modern society through printing creations in the “Earth Discoloration”and “life protection” series. The situations of greedy humans preying on nature, including diversion and other behaviors that will damage the habitats, hunting and cooking, genetic alteration, inhumane common beliefs, and popular culture, have led to mass extinction and animal slaughtering today because humans do not treat animals with life. This is a issue of civilization, and civilization is being excessively expanded and distorted into the contrary of civilization. On the other hand, the fast-food romance in the “Social Kaleidoscope” series becomes the self-experience and observation to the social aspects.
The creation discourse is divided into five parts, with each chapter summarized below: Chapter 1:Explain creation motives and purposes, scope of creation research, methods and frame, and terms and definitions. Chapter 2: Discuss the theoretical basis in the history of arts, namely 1. Eco-art:” discussing the works for reflection on natural ecology by domestic and foreign artists. 2. Mixed media printmaking art in Taiwan, talk about prints of the develop history. To find proper express inner-directed the ways of creation. 3. The conversation between popular culture and modern arts, a discussion from the Hong Tong phenomenon to the Takashi Muradami phenomenon. 4. Hieronymus Bosch gets used to use symbolic signs, his works to description human’s sin and immoral. Chapter 3: Research and implement works, expounding concepts of creation, content and formality of creation, and material and techniques for creation. Chapter4:The works are divided into “Land of Discoloration,”“Incarnation,”“SocialKaleidoscope,”“Life Protection” series with further interpretation and analysis of works. Chapter 5:Conclusion: includes the significance of experiences and works of creations for individuals with review on whether if the expected purposes have been achieved during the practice as well as possibility of future work development.
