臺灣博碩士論文加值系統

為了對線上聯合目錄的發展與使用有更深入地認識，本研究透過文獻探討與實證研究，一方面掌握國內外線上聯合目錄之現況及其相關研究；另一方面則以全國圖書書目資訊網（National Bibliographic Information Network, NBINet）與國立中正大學國內圖書館圖書虛擬聯合目錄（簡稱中正虛擬聯合目錄）作為研究對象，藉100筆抽樣自「全國新書資訊月刊」與「CHOICE」之中西文書目記錄之國際標準號碼、題名與著者進行既知圖書資料及其典藏館之檢索，進而歸納實體及虛擬聯合目錄查詢使用上的差異與限制，並對於國內線上聯合目錄未臻理想之處，提出改進的建議。
研究結果可歸納為三方面：
一、NBINet查詢結果：
（一）中文書目記錄之各類檢索項中，以翻譯作品之個人譯者查得已知
作品之典藏館較為完整；西文書目記錄則以ISBN查詢結果較為完
整。
（二）NBINet因合作館未能同步更新個別館藏目錄及聯合目錄，以致於
無法完整反映個別圖書館館藏。
（三）自NBINet查得重複書目記錄的比例仍高。
（四）NBINet中各合作館提供之書目記錄品質影響其檢索結果。
二、中正虛擬聯合目錄查詢結果：
（一）中西文書目記錄之各類檢索項中，皆以ISBN查得已知作品之典藏
館較為完整。
（二）中正虛擬聯合目錄查詢結果顯示之說明訊息有誤。
（三）中正虛擬聯合目錄與個別館藏目錄連線狀態正常與否將影響該系
統之查詢使用。
（四）個別館藏書目記錄品質影響中正大學虛擬聯合目錄查詢結果。
（五）中正虛擬聯合目錄查詢結果無法完整顯示。
三、實體與虛擬聯合目錄孰優？孰劣？
（一）NBINet提供較多元化的檢索點，以及一致的查詢結果。
（二）中正虛擬聯合目錄可供個別圖書館館藏資源之即時流通訊息的查
詢。
（三）整體比較，中正虛擬聯合目錄完整查得抽樣書目記錄及其典藏館
的百分比平均值較高。
（四）NBINet查核與合併書目記錄的過程，可能修正個別館藏記錄的錯
誤，也可能導致錯誤的書目資訊。
（五）中正虛擬聯合目錄的使用受限於其與合作館間的連線正常與否；
NBINet則提供較穩定的連線查詢環境。
根據研究結果，本論文提出六項建議，分別為：一、加強NBINet與合作館間之互惠關係，以提昇聯合目錄收錄之書目資訊與館藏記錄的新穎性；二、國內圖書館應加強對於書目記錄品質的把關；三、加強線上聯合目錄之系統輔助功能；四、改善線上聯合目錄查詢結果的呈現；五、提昇線上聯合目錄之服務；六、加強虛擬聯合目錄之維護與相關訊息的提供。

In order to build a deeper understanding on the development and the use of online union catalogs, this study adopts literature review and empirical study, on one hand, to learn more about the state of online union catalogs and its relative studies; on the other hand, to conduct a research on the National Bibliographic Information Network（NBINet）and National Chung Cheng University（NCCU）virtual catalog（中正大學國內圖書館圖書虛擬聯合目錄）. This research used 100 random sampling bibliographic records selected from “New Books Monthly (全國新書資訊月刊)” and “CHOICE” and adopted the ISBN, title and author of the records to retrieve the known-item and its holding information. By analyzing the search results, the differences and individual limitations of physical and virtual union catalogs are identified, from which the recommendation is made in wish to make contribution to the domestic online union catalogs development.
The study results indicate that:
1.From NBINet:
(1)In NBINet system, retrieval by individual translators search outstands other search items provided in Chinese sampling bibliographic records on the reflections of known item and its actual holding information. Besides, among search items from foreign sampling bibliographic records, retrieval by ISBN generates more accurate information on the library holdings.
(2)NBINet is unable to reflect complete individual library holdings for its cooperative libraries didn’t keep updated with their new collections either on their local catalog or NBINet central bibliographic database.
(3)The percentage of duplicated bibliographic records is still high.
(4)The quality of bibliographic records from local libraries has great influence on the search results.
2.From NCCU virtual catalog:
(1)Search items from both Chinese and foreign sampling bibliographic records, the ISBN search can lead to the fully holding information of the local libraries.
(2)The expository messages of search results generated in the system are incorrect.
(3)The status of connection between NCCU virtual catalog and other local libraries has effects on the search performance.
(4)The quality of local libraries’ bibliographic records might influence the search results on NCCU system.
(5)The system can’t show the complete search results.
3.Physical and virtual union catalogs; which is better than the other?
(1)NBINet provides more search points and consistent search results.
(2)NCCU virtual union catalog can provide real time circulation information.
(3)In general, the percentage of completed holding information of known items searches on NCCU virtual union catalog is higher than NBINet.
(4)In the process of inspection and consolidation of duplicated bibliographic records in NBINet, possible amendment might be made and then causes the false records.
(5)NCCU virtual union catalog got limitations for the unstable connection with local libraries; NBINet provide stable retrieval environment.
Base on the study, six recommendations are proposed in this thesis. They are as the followings: 1. The reciprocal relationship between NBINet and its cooperative libraries should be enhanced to promote an update union catalogues and library holding information. 2. Librarians should reinforce quality of its local library bibliographic records. 3. The online help functions of online union catalogs should be strengthened. 4. The display of search results in online union catalogs should be improved. 5. The service of online union catalogs should be upgraded. 6. The maintenance of online union catalogs and timely update of the current relative information should be improved.
