Electricity is an important basis for modern peoples lives. Recently, people’s demand for electricity has soared. Coupled with rising public awareness of environmental protection, the development of electric power has been hindered by local residents. Therefore, whenever there is a peak period in electricity usage, the reserve capacity is low. , The risk of power shortage increases; while the cogeneration system is a device that uses fuel or waste to generate electricity and steam at the same time, which has the benefits of improving the efficiency of energy use, decentralizing power supply, and improving reliability of power supply. Taiwan is located in the subtropical zone, with warm climate and no heating demand in winter. Therefore, the cogeneration system is mainly used in factories with steam demand. The main input is fuel, and the output is steam and electric energy. The main purpose of this thesis is to apply the DEA model and Malmquist Index to measure comparative efficiency and self-evaluation for the cogeneration system. The research results hope to provide some useful information for decision-makers, which can be used by government units to adjust the reference of cogeneration system management guidance and manufacturers cogeneration system operation mode, and improve the cogeneration system.
