在本篇論文中,我們提出一個以重要性標示為基礎的影音摘要架構。 在這個架構之下,我們可以從一段數位多媒體影音當中,淬取出一些有意義的資訊,並藉由這些資訊標示出該段影音對於人類視覺的重要性。 利用這些標示出來的重要性,我們就可以依據使用環境/需求/頻寬等因素,在任何時間長度的設定條件下,對該段影音做出有效的摘要。
此外,我們實作了一個新聞的摘要及瀏覽工具,它可以讓使用者在較短的時間內,對一段新聞做一個粗略的了解,藉以節省時間,或是藉以判斷該段新聞是否有完整觀看的必要性。
總之,我們相信這個以影音重要性標示為基礎的架構,可以應用於任何類型的影音資料上。 在這個數位多媒體逐漸蔓延的時代,對影音做出摘要已經變得越來越重要。 除了應用於搜尋多媒體資料外, 影音摘要對於數位電視及窄頻多媒體相關應用,亦存在著相當大的助益。
