Shizhou-Lane Overpass is located in Shuang-Dung section of National Highway 6. The bridge a 3-span prestressed concrete bridge, with a total length of 57 meters. The superstructure is voided concrete plate constructed by lightweight aggregate concrete. It is first prestressed lightweight aggregate concrete bridge.
This thesis presents a study of the prestress loss and long-term deformation of Shizhou-Lane Overpass predicted by computer software, SAP 2000. Material properties of the lightweight concrete superstructure as well as the time dependent parameters are carefully assessed for the analysis. Parameters considered include the modulus of elasticity and strength concrete, thermal expansion coefficients, shrinkage and creep properties of lightweight concrete, etc. Results given by the computer analysis is then compared with the on-site monitoring data.
The comparison indicates that the computer model gives a good prediction of the trend of prestress loss. However, the outcome of the computer analysis indicates that the level of prestress loss is very sensitive to the level of temperature change. The model is also able to assess the long-term deflection of the bridge, with an error less that 7%. The estimation of prestress loss. The goal of this study is to develop the concept of modeling prestressed lightweight aggregate concrete bridges, particularly for bridges constructed in the environment similar to Taiwan.
