A more precision model of three-phase power system network was developed to discuss the systematic optimal capacitor placement problem in practical unbalanced feeders,both mutual coupling effect and phase bus were considered in the three- phase load flow.Besides,the planning of shunt capacitor include the summation of peak power cost,energy cost and capacitor cost to be the cost function and the limit of raising voltage under the secure condition to be the constraint of nonliner programming mathematices model,the simulation result will show the affection of considering mutual coupling effect and daily load curve in capacitor planning. On the other hand,the capacitor planning criteria of Tai- power system was also discussed,and a new method include fixed and switched capacitors placement was suggested to improve the current criteria after the comparison of Tai-power pratical feeder computer simulation of the two criteria,better precision ,safety and more system operation cost reduced was showed in the result to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
