This paper studies the post-graduation stressors experienced during the job-seeking and employment stages, as well as the coping measures employed by visually disabled students who were accepted to college through the "Rules of Recommendation and Selection Porgram for Visual and Hearing Disabled Examinee". This paper conducted in-depth interviews among 22 persons with visual impairments and came up with the following findings: 1.Most of the respondents gained their present employment either through self-initiated job application or tests; however none of the respondents obtained their present jobs through the introduction of the "government employment service office" or "public and private career training institutions". 2.The stressors respondents experienced during the job-seeking stage are greatly related to the job-seeking method employed; stressors vary as method differs. The principal coping measure employed by respondents when confronted by stressors during the job- seeking stage is the problem-focused coping measure, that is, respondents directly confront problems to cope. 3.The stressors respondents experienced in their present jobs are as follows: nature of work , interpersonal relationship, environmental demands, career development and personal psychological make-up. Except for the staff members of national assembly representatives and government officials who mainly employ the problem-focused coping measure to cope with occupational stressors, the measure used by other respondents to cope with the occupational stressors of their present jobs is a combination of the problem-focused coping measure and the emotion-focused coping measure. Furthermore, respondents who face occupational stressors mostly "seek the assistance of others" or "resort to the Braille PC" to cope with these stressors. It is hereby made apparent that the support of the society forms an important occupation stressor coping resource for the visually disabled. Learning to use the Braille PC is a requirement for persons with visual impairments. Based on the research findings obtained, this paper proposes that the college graduates with visual impairments, social and labor government officials, as well as the general public shall be able to help the persons with visual impairments manage stress effictively. This paper shall also serve as reference for the government''s future efforts to improve the conditions for the persons with visual impairments.
