三 摘要
當我們在日常飲食中若攝取了高量的膽固醇 , 則容易誘使心血管疾病之發生 。在本篇之研究中 , 主要針對於高血脂兔在給予了中藥後 , 檢測中藥在其血液中 , 抗氧化活性以及降低血脂質之能力。
而在實驗之分組中 , 正常組之兔子是給予了不含膽固醇之飼料 , 而控制組之兔子則是給予了正常飼料外加0.5% 之膽固醇 ; 而在中藥組中 , 共包含了五種中藥 , 分別是厚朴﹑紅花﹑丹蔘﹑川芎及石斛等五種中藥材 ; 而中藥之給藥劑量皆佔飼料之1%。而在給藥之後的四﹑八週兔子之血液生化參數中顯示 , 總膽固醇﹑低密度脂蛋白﹑三酸甘油酯在中藥的作用之後 , 其若與控制組相比較是有一明顯降低之趨勢產生 , 而血液中之抗氧化活性同樣在給予中藥後也有一下降之情形產生。另外 , 在動脈粥狀硬化血管內膜受損傷的程度及區域中 , 若中藥組與膽固醇組作一比較 , 給予中藥之組別其血管胸主動脈受到脂肪堆積損害之程度也是低於膽固醇組的。所以 , 由此次實驗中的結果顯示 , 中藥對於高血脂症兔子體內之降血脂及抗氧化能力是有其影響結果的 。

四 英文摘要
Cardiovascular disease is a common phenomenon when the diet contains high cholesterol. In this study the antioxidative and hypolipidemic effects of Chinese herb and anti-oxidant agent were investigated in hypercholesterolemic rabbit . The normal group was fed regular chow and the cholesterol group was fed a chow containing 0.5 % cholesterol. The Chinese herb group were fed 1 % herbal essence and were fed 0.1% anti-oxidant agent in antioxidant group . The total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, triacylglycerol and lucigenic-CL were decreased in the Chinese herb and anti-oxidant agent when compared with the cholesterol group. The intimal surface of the thoratic aorta was covered with atherosclerotic lesions in the control group, but reduced in the Chinese herb and antioxidant group. Therefore , Chinese herb may be useful to prevent cardiovascular disease in which atherosclerosis plays a major role.
