With the society and economy growing up, the domestic colleges increased. Under the limited educational resources, the increasing colleges will cause educational resources dispersed. According to this situation, the management of each college is going to face the competition increasingly. Therefore, how to survive under this competitive environment has become the most important issue for those managers of colleges. For recent years, the cases of strategic alliances of universities in Taiwan have increased. It showed that strategic alliances of universities has become one of the effective methods in cooperative business operation among these colleges. If we could estimate the situation of strategic alliances of universities fully and accurately beforehand, the cooperative business operation must be feasible and effective.
Based on the reasons above, this study analyze the situation of strategic alliances of universities in Taiwan. First of all, the research will focus on surveying the types, successful factors and present situation of strategic alliances of universities in Taiwan. This research will divide into two stages on the part of acquiring data of analysis. At the first stage, utilizing the expert questionnaire survey to choose the key factors and feasible alliances methods of strategic alliances of universities in Taiwan. According to the results of first stage, we can establish the evaluative model of the situation of strategic alliances of universities in Taiwan. Besides, we also considered the four quadrants including the important degree of eighteen key factors and the reachable degree of ten feasible alliances methods. At the second stage, utilizing the expert questionnaire survey to categorize the professional points of view from the managers of five colleges by Buddhist and the research development committee of administrative affairs of Hua-Fan University to evaluate the feasibility of strategic alliances of universities in Taiwan.
Finally, we took a case study of the private universities by Buddhist to prove the prediction. According to the evaluative results, the mangers of these five colleges and the research development committee of administrative affairs of Hua-Fan University have a common view of that “Books, Facilities and Information Shared”, “Hold Activities Together”, “Courses Registered and Credits Admitted Mutually”, “Research Projects Collaborated”, ”The Alliances of Distance Education”, “Teachers and Students Exchanged”, “ Recruit students United” these seven feasible alliances methods are aggressive strategies. The points of view among these experts are identically.
