透過世界大學學術排名的資訊,大眾可從不同的觀點了解各大專院校的排名情形,但從這些具有權威性指標所做出來的大學學術排名不適合用來說明各大專院校其學生的論文素質。先前曾有學者針對臺灣資訊管理領域,做過各大專院校在國內外學術期刊上發表狀況之研究,該研究是以各大專院校資訊管理系所發表於SCI/SSCI/TSSCI的歷年期刊文章數與期刊排名,來分析各大專院校資訊管理系學術文章的品質績效,而非探討各大專院校學生論文的素質。
本研究提出學位論文效益量化機制(Academic Dissertation Effectiveness Calculating Scheme, ADECS),首先我們透過網路爬蟲(Web Crawler)自動化收集學術文章特徵資料,並採用資訊檢索技術中的向量空間模式(Vector Space Model, VSM),產生學生學位論文與其指導教授SCI/SSCI期刊文章的各項特徵資料(文章標題(TI)、文章摘要(AB)、關鍵字詞(KW)及參考文獻(CR))的向量值。接著透過向量相似度計算公式量化出特徵資料向量間相似度,再藉由層級分析法(Analytic Hierarchy Process, AHP)將各項文章特徵資料,以線性方式結合成文章間相似度。最後我們以期刊影響係數資訊(Journal Impact Factor, JIF)為基礎,量化出每篇學生學位論文於SCI/SSCI期刊文章的效益值。
本研究利用實證分析法(Empirical Investigation),來論證ADECS是否有效,結果顯示,ADECS可以衡量各大專院校學生學位論文的平均素質,亦可探勘出個體的差異性,例如:國立成功大學資訊工程系所學生學位論文平均效益值較佳,而且大部分效益值不由極少數學生學位論文所佔有,我們可以推斷國立成功大學資訊工程系所的學生學位論文素質普遍較高。ADECS除了應用在探討大專院校與學生學位論文的效益值情形,也能分析大專院校與教授、教授與其學生之學位論文的效益值情況。
