本論文研製之 Malmquist 生產力指數(MPI)由 Färe 等人(1994)提出,並以 資料包絡分析(DEA),通常用於衡量全要素生產率(TFP)。由於本方法基於 線性規劃的衡量標準故缺乏統計性質,MPI 可能會提供有關 TFP 及其組成部分 的不完整訊息,從而導致不正確的政策與或者管理影響。本研究採用由 Simar and Wilson(1998,1999)提出的 bootstrap 方法,該方法考慮到資料的時間依賴性結 構,生成適當的 bootstrap 樣本來分析台灣國際觀光旅(ITHs)的生產率變化。另 外再加入風景區與非風景區;連鎖與非連鎖兩項不同特性探究兩者有何不同。
該資料來源於台灣旅遊局 2010-2015 年度台灣國際旅遊飯店年度經營報告, 由 67 個 ITH 和 402 個觀測值組成。實證結果發現,高估台灣 ITH 效率變化的情 況是顯而易見的,在技術變化情況下更是如此。
The Malmquist productivity index (MPI), proposed by Färe et al. (1994) and based on the data envelopment analysis (DEA), is commonly used to measure total factor productivity (TFP). Being a linear-programming-based measure and lack of statistical nature, MPI may give incomplete information about TFP and its components and thus, guides incorrect policy and/or managerial implications. This study uses the bootstrapping approach, proposed by Simar and Wilson (1998, 1999) which takes into account the time-dependence structure of the data, to generate the appropriate bootstrap samples for analyzing productivity changes of Taiwan’s ITHs.
The dataset, obtained from the annual Operating Report of International Tourist Hotel in Taiwan published by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau during 2010-2015, consists of 67 ITHs and 402 observations. Empirical results indicate that it is apparent to overstating the situation of changes in efficiency of Taiwan’s ITHs, and even worse in the case of changes in technology.
