近年來EDM（電子舞曲）成為流行音樂市場上的主流，大量結合EDM元素與流行歌曲的作品出現。而不可避免的，隨之出現的是其內容大同小異與品質參差不齊的批評。此時這些製作EDM的音樂人，開始找尋不一樣的素材，以創造自己獨特的風格。

在眾多使用不一樣素材的音樂當中，英國樂團Clean Bandit使用弦樂器走出自己的風格。而筆者也因此注意到，除了他們以外，還有許多以弦樂器作為素材加入EDM與流行歌曲的作品。這些作品不僅以藝術音樂與流行音樂的反差，讓人耳目一新，更是透過弦樂器變化多元的音色，加強了作品本身的段落效果。而筆者從眾多作品中選擇了Clean Bandit的〈Rather Be〉、〈Extraordinary〉、Sigma的〈Find Me〉與一首台灣作品──陳思涵的〈Final Call〉做為主要分析對象，透過系統化的分析，解構其內容，了解弦樂器如何與EDM結合並應用於流行音樂當中。

最後除了分析之外，透過與台灣創作歌手羅晧耘合作歌曲〈幻覺〉，加上自我創作〈失眠〉一曲，實際創作，並現場演出這類型的作品來實踐所學。

EDM (Electronic Dance Music) has become the mainstream in pop music recently. Large number of works combining EDM elements and popular songs appear. Because the threshold of producing EDM is not very high as the buildup of a workstation goes much cheaper than before, there are more and more works seen in the market. Most of the works are similar to each other and eventually become bored. At this time, the musicians who make EDM began to search for different materials to create their own unique style.

Among so many songs that use different materials, the British band Clean Bandit uses bowed string instruments to create its own style. The author also noticed that in addition to them, there are many works that use bowed string instruments as materials to combining EDM and popular songs. These works are refreshing because of their contrast between artistic music and popular music. Moreover, the diversity in sound of bowed string instruments enhance the emotional flows in such works. The author selected Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be”, “Extraordinary”, “Find Me” from Sigma and “Final Call” from Taiwanese singer Seehan ‘Angel’ Chen as the main objects of analysis. Through systematic analysis and deconstruct their content, we will be able to understand how bowed string instruments are combined with EDM and applied to popular music.

Finally, practice our learning through the arrangement and live performance of Taiwanese singer-songwriter Hauyun Lo’s “Illusion” and the lyrics writing, composition and arrangement of “Insomnia”.
