The topic of the creative discourse is Engraving Shape and Brewing Color. The motivation of the creation came from my hobby, tasting dessert and wine. The study was focused on finding the resemblance between printmaking and baking. I also tried to find out the relationship between printmaking and art works collection. I use the shape of dessert and wine as the inspiration of printmaking. The creation was based on the Principles of Formation and the color image. I also use Visual Perception and the Principles of Gestalt as further discussion. The results revealed the relationship between the content of printmaking and my mind by the Theory of Instinctoid Needs, Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs Theory and Pop Art. I mainly use Reduction Relief and Collagraphy as my techniques for the printmaking creatives. Sometimes I use combined methods, which included techniques such as collage and tearing. I use carving knife instead of painting brush to create the texture of printmaking, and furthermore expressing my emotions. There are five chapters:
Chapter One: I elaborated the motivation, purpose, content and the research methods. Chapter Two: Theoretical Basis. I used Gestalt Psychology to discuss the visual and psychological parts of printmaking. Finally I used the Theory of Instinctoid Needs to analyze the interior part of printmaking. Chapter Three: Creation Practice, Described the purpose and content of this paper. Revealed the process of Reduction Relief and Collagraphy. Chapter Four: Described the formation, content and the interpretation of my printmaking words. The series of Engraving Shape and Brewing Color divided into three parts, which was Diversity, Desire and Healing. Chapter Five: Conclusion, I review my creative series and discusses the perspectives of the future.
