METHODS: Participants were 20 elementary school baseball players. They were randomly assigned to the intervention or control group. There are 10 players in intervention group, and the other 10 players in control group. The intervention group participated in jumping rope training for 30-40 minutes three times a week. Training contents will gradually increased. While the control group did the regular training. Before intervention, we measured all players' age, health, weight and body mass index. The results showed that they are similar in body composition. Vertical jump(vertical jumping power), Standing long jump (horizontal jumping power), 4x10 m shuttle run (agility) and 50m sprint (speed) were measured before and after the intervention. RESULTS:The intervention group compared to the control group was significantly improved on Vertical jump, Standing long jump performance and 50m sprint.(p< 0.05), and no differences were found on 4x10 m shuttle run. Jumping rope training can improve Vertical jump for 15.3%, Standing long jump for 7.71% and 50m sprint for 9.03% .But there are no diifferences found in 4x10 m shuttle run. CONCLUSIONS: Jumping rope training can improve vertical and horizontal jumping power and speed of elementary school baseball players.
