Poly(3,4-propylenedioxythiophene)是PEDOT的一種衍生物,具有對稱的結構,其導電性與溶解度比PEDOT更為出色,尤其當PProDOT的丙基碳鏈橋段中間的碳上有著對稱官能基時,更能提高其性質。本研究利用transetherification reaction合成三個3,4-propylenedioxythiophene的衍生物,分別為ProDOT-Bu、ProDOT-Et和ProDOT-Me。
Carbazole分子,是發藍光的材料,其衍生化合物熱穩定性好,且具有電洞傳遞層和發光層的特性,可在9號氮上接上不同的側鏈,改善其溶解度或其他性質。以Suzuki reaction將ProDOT-Me、 ProDOT-Et、ProDOT-Bu和EDOT與改質的Carbazole合成出三種共聚物,為PDOT BuCz、PDOTEtCz、PDOTBuCz和PEDOTCz。
經由核磁共振光譜儀(NMR)鑑定其合成之結構,基質輔助雷射脫附游離飛行時間質譜儀(MALDI-TOF/MS)鑑定其物理性質,熱重量分析儀(TGA)與微分掃描熱卡計(DSC)鑑定其熱性質,紫外光-可見光吸收光譜儀 (UV-vis) 與光激發光譜儀(PL)與光電光譜儀(PESA)鑑定其光學性質。

Poly(3,4-propylenedioxythiophene) is one of PEDOT’s derivatives , it owns symmetrical structure that its conductivity and solubility is better than PEDOT. In this study , we synthesized ProDOT derivatives with symmetrical side chains via transetherification reaction ,which were ProDOT-Me , ProDOT-Et and ProDOT-Bu ,respectively to improve solubility.
Carbazole is a blue light emitting material that owns great thermal stability and organic solvent solubility . A novel series of soluble alternating ProDOT/carbazole copolymer : PDOTMeCz , PDOTEtCz , PDOTBuCz and PEDOTCz were synthesized by Suzuki coupling reaction.
To identify structure, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) was used, physical properties via Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/ Ionization Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF), thermal stability properties via thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry analysis (DSC) were also measured. Optical properties, UV-visible absorption (UV-vis), fluorescence (PL), and photo-electron spectroscopy in air (PESA) spectra were carried out. The observed characteristics are sufficiently enough to make these polymers as highly promising materials in PLED fields.
