Family business is already applied to a lot of business in the world. However, most of family business had a failure while they face the succession issues. Less than 24% family business can be passed to the second generation. One of the common causes is because of the failure of the first generation passing the knowledge to the second generation. Succession issues has an important role in the family business because without succession, business would ended. Through this research, Author want to explore more about the correlation among the leadership style, succession issues, company culture and organizational performance. Author analyzes the succession issues in the Surabaya Express Heavy Transportation company in Indonesia.
After all the analysis, Author can conclude that all the three factors is related. The leadership style of the owner affects the succession issues itself, and also the company culture. While the succession is going, the business performance, employees also have to adapt for the changes, which will result in good and bad things. And also, the relationship between the owner and the successor affect the succession issues in a lot of way.
