This research is aimed at exploring several factors and their extent which may influence tea-cher''s job satisfaction of health education at the junior high school in Taipei. The research has three main predictors, namely principal leadership, school organization structure and achievement motivation. Meanwhile teacher''s job satisfaction is the criterion of the research. A questionnaire is mailed to a selected group, then collected. Multivariate statistics is adopted as a major tool in doing data analyses, which in-cludes one-way MANOVA, multivariate MR, canonical analysis, LISREL-path analysis, etc. Several main conclusionls can be drawn from the research: (1) For professional heatth education teachers, the more classes and class hours they take, the higher job satisfaction they feel, especially in the material circumstances of teaching. (2) Professional health education teachers with an aid to the special calssroom get higher job satisfaction than those without an aid to the special classroom, especially in the material circumstances of teaching. (3) Principal leadership, school organization structre, achievement motivation are independently related to teacher''s job satisfaction. (4) By the recursive path analysis, it is found that environmental factors (principal leadership, school organization structure) are much greater an impact upon teacher''s job satisfaction than individual characteristics (achievement motivation)
