Concrete is a kind of material widely used in the construc- on industry. Because of its popularity inconstruction application , a thorough understanding ofits particular behavior and working ability becomesvery important to us. In this thesis, the studies are emphasized on the fresh concrete at very low temperature, especially those inthe environ- ment of -15℃. To investigate its rate ofstrength development and the expansion rate duringfreezing. We also apply the pressure-re- sisting intensityat thaw of different period of times to analyzet heconcrete character during the early ages, the slumpphenomena, and the influences to the pressure-resistingstrength in the concrete. To reach these purposes, the research include the following experiments for: 1. Determination of basic and physical properties of the ingredient in the concrete. 2. Its pressure-resisting strength at ambient temperature. 3. Its pressure-resisting strength at freezing periods. 4. Concrete properties at thaw. 5. Expansion behavior of the icing concrete. 6. Frozen concrete properties in the water when thawing. In review of these studies, we conclude that a full understanding of the concrete behavior in the icing case will give us a very valuable information for reference. It help not only for us to predict the servibility of frozen concrete to the jobs, but also give the reasonable means to the design works.
