Production of fine or special chemicals via anodic oxidation and paired electro-oxidation is studied. The purpose of this study is to provide some important basic information for research and development of the electroorganic synthesis process which is high economy and no pollution. Applying redox mediators to electroorganic synthesis process is to use mediators as "electron-carrier" between electrodes and reactants. The emphasizes on the understanding of the surface character of electrodes, reaction mechanism and reaction kinetics of single and paired electrolysis in the presence of redox mediators so as to widen the application of this new technique. The commerical competence of electroorganic synthesis process is upgraded when the same product is obtained on both anode and cathode paired oxidation being invented, more efficient of power comsumption, more simplified equipment and separation skill has been acquired. Two type of electroorganic synthesis processes, i.e. anodic oxidation and paired electro- oxidation process using Ag(I)/Ag(II), Mn(II)/Mn(III) and V(IV) /V(V) as redox mediators in both divided and undivided cells are studied. Effect of operation conditions on the current efficiency and selectivity, the mass transfer phenomenon and the reaction kinetics between mediators and reactants are systematically investigated.
